MITEQ designs and manufactures various types of frequency synthesizers, including sources based on phase-locked-loop (PLL) technology to lock the phase of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to that of an inherently more stable reference source, such as a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) or an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO). Such synthesizers can be designed with a single loop for optimal frequency switching speed, or with multiple loops when lower noise performance is required. In essence, they can be called "integer-N" synthesizers where N is the multiplication factor used to determine the output frequency as a multiple of the reference source frequency.

UWB Series - Frequency Synthesizers
MITEQ would like to introduce its new UWB (Ultra Wideband) Series of frequency synthesizers. These units are designed as an ideal replacement for any type of YIG based synthesizer. The UWB Series can lower the system power dissipation, and reduce micro-phonic sensitivity that are characteristic of the older YIG based type synthesizer. This series is available in the 4.5 to 13 GHz frequency range and is ideal for ELINT, test translation and instrumentation applications. Ultra-wide bandwidth, fast switching, and low power consumption makes this series an ideal alternate for those YIG based synthesizers. The UWB is available in step sizes down to 1 kHz, and has an output power of +13 dBm minimum.

MOS Series - Frequency Synthesizers
MITEQ would like to introduce its MOS Series of multi-octave wide, low phase noise synthesizers which offer an economical solution for lab and communication test applications. Band coverage is from 100 MHz to 20 GHz. The MOS Series has a standard 1 kHz step size, with optional full-band fast switching available. The field-tested design and low power dissipation proves to demonstrate higher MTBF and higher reliability. These synthesizers are available in either one third-rack mounted chassis with front panel control, or a modular 5” x 8” x 1.25” package with either serial or parallel control.

MITEQ introduces the SLFS Synthesizer Series that offers a compact and economical solution for SATCOM and VHF Ku-Band microwave communication systems.  The SLFS can be controlled with any notebook or desktop PC with a user friendly Graphic User Interface available as a download from the MITEQ website.  This series is available in VHF through Ku-Band with typical bandwidths of 800 MHz, with an efficient design that dissipates only 2.5 Watts.  The SLFS is available in wider bandwidths and custom step sizes as required. 

Package size is modular, 2.25” x 2.25” x 0.6”, SMA input and output with 7 PIN JST interface connector.

MITEQ introduces the BTE Synthesizer Series which are designed to meet the most demanding phase noise requirements.  The BTE Series can meet the most stringent phase noise requirements from S- through Ku-Band.  The BTE Ku-Band noise performance is over 20 dB below Intelsat IESS 308/309 with over 2 GHz of tuning bandwidth and 1 kHz step size.  This series is also available with a fixed second LO output option which also maintains the low noise of the main output in dual conversion systems.  Fixed LO can be tuned to alternate frequency via communication interface.  The BTE is packaged to meet extremely low EMI emission requirements and has options for parallel or serial communications and control.
