MITEQ attained its original ISO 9001 registration in June 1993, when fewer than 1500 companies were registered. ISO 9001 has since become a recognized standard for quality in over 90 countries. Nationally, it is accepted by an ever-increasing number of government agencies in place of longstanding military specifications covering quality and inspection criteria. Among those are MIL-Q-9858 and MIL-I-45208.

MITEQ's quality system is certified to ISO 9001 by National Quality Assurance USA (NQA), an accredited registrar of the American National Standards Institute - Registration Accreditation Board (ANSI-RAB). NQA performs a quality audit at MITEQ every six months to assure continued compliance to the standard. Additionally, MITEQ's internal auditing system, coupled with regular management reviews, assures that the quality system is effective, updated and constantly improved.

The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

Most of MITEQ's components are available as RoHS compliant, meeting the requirements of the RoHS Directive when indicted RoHS compliant in our literature and on our web site. If your parts require RoHS compliancy, please indicate as RoHS compliant when you place your order.

WEEE Directive

weee logo

The WEEE directive requires that the product must be marked with a Do Not Landfill mark, date code, and name of producer. TAC (Technical Adaptation Committee) and the Cenelec standards body created the graphical, which is the crossed out wheel bin with a bar underneath it that indicates that the product was placed on the market after August 13, 2005.

MITEQ conforms to the WEEE directive and marks required individual products with the WEEE label as required.

CE Marking
ce logo

CE Marking is the symbol as shown at the left of this page. The letters "CE" are the abbreviation of French phrase "Conformité Européene" which literally means "European Conformity". The term initially used was "EC Mark" and it was officially replaced by "CE Marking" in the Directive 93/68/EEC in 1993. "CE Marking" is now used in all EU official documents.

All MITEQ products requiring the CE conformity, comply and are marked as required by the European Union Directive.
